Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, the French city of Puy-deDomme on August 9, 1976. Audrey is the largest child of 4 children. The actress was inspired by her parents, dentist and a teacher who were both teachers to pursue her passion for the theatre. This was in contrast to an earlier desire to be a primatologist due to the fact that she adored monkeys. She rose to prominence as an actress in her early years and achieved huge popularity and success. Prior to beginning the acting profession, Tautou participated in Jeunes Premiers which was a French television show that sought to find talent that was sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. Also, she was awarded the Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou was born into a Catholic home, and was a member of the her church even though she was a student within school at the Institut Catholique de Paris. Alongside her acting profession, she has was also interested in modelling. She was the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and has been referred as "The Chanel Muse". She also has a serious interest in photography and recently exhibited her work during the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. She focuses her photography on celebrity, fame and the press that scrutinised her following her rise to fame with Amelie. There are also numerous photographs of her self. Audrey Tautou's first big role, as Amelie Poulain's main actress in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie, landed her international stardom. Amelie has been an international box office success and praised at many award shows around the world. It's the largest French language film to ever be released on the US. The success of this movie brought Tautou into a wide range of roles, including British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
